Trips around Paisley [Updated 16.06.2024]

"Updated post with my trips around Scotland."

Pollok Country Park

Nice park with beautiful gardens and easy access from Paisley - following the "river" White Cart Water.

Route Relive

Duncarnock Fort (from Paisley)

Duncarnock Fort (The Craigie) is a 204 m hill south of Barrhead. There are two ways to the top (mild and steep) and it is possible to park only about 500 m away making it an easy walk with very nice views.

Route Relive

Corlic Hill (from Port Glasgow)

Nice mostly gravel and paved roads with some extremelly buggy sections (west of Corlic Hill and the sheep shortcut). Especially the downhill section from Corlic Hill should be taken slowly and in trail shoes, otherwise there is a big risk of arriving to the destination covered in mud as I did.

Route Relive

Windy Hill (from Lochwinnoch)

Relatively long paved road section with very slow ascent / descent, so perfectly suitable for running (would be quite boring to walk). Otherwise mostly gravel paths without much mud.

Route Relive

Gleniffer Braes Country Park (Paisley)

Nice park with amazing views towards the Scottish Highlands. Mix of paved, gravel and grassy trails.
