After two years, I finally returned to the Czech Republic in summer and visited my favorite places, which hold wonderful memories for me — not only from childhood. Choosing just a few photos was really hard this time, because the Czech landscape is simply beautiful. That’s why this post is a bit longer than usual, and for some captions I truly ran out of ideas—so a big thank you to Helca for help; without who, I’d probably be writing this for another month.
Adrpassko-teplicke skaly
Let’s start with the best — the Adrpassko-Teplicke skaly, which you can explore
even outside the busiest paths, along a pleasant but fairly long
trail
from the Jiraskovi skaly.
Broumovske steny
In the equally beautiful Broumovske steny, we were practically alone compared to the previous trip, which I really appreciated.
The trail
from Honske sedlo to Koruna, turned out to be quite demanding due to the challenging terrain and elevation gain. We therefore turned back slightly sooner and these 21 km in seven and a half hours were more than enough for us.
Toulovcovy Mastale
In Toulovcovy Mastale, I know every stone, and thanks to its easy accessibility from Pardubice, it’s my favorite place for a hike. It actually feels like a baby version of the previous hikes.
Prachovske skaly
The Prachovske skaly are a bit of a mainstream classic, and unfortunately the number of people reflects that. I hadn’t been there in a long time, so I enjoyed the hike despite occasionally waiting for our turn to squeeze through narrow passages. There is also an amazing outdoor tearoom
Plujici oblaka
which I highly recommend visiting and supporting it.
Prachovske skaly
Pardubice and surroundings
Besides a few trips nearby Pardubice, including a couple of days at our cottage, I also
went for a run to Kunka
– my very first goal when I started running years ago. It was an incredibly hot day, but I honestly don’t know a better half-marathon route than this one from Pardubice.
Zeme Keltu
Finally, I also visited the Celtic village called
Zeme Keltu, just a short distance from Pardubice. It’s a peaceful place, where it’s immediately clear how much care has gone into maintaining it.
